After retiring from my role as Director of Food and Beverage at the San Diego Convention Center in 2018, I turned my full attention to tutoring. With over 38 years of experience, including six years full-time, I bring a lifetime of dedication to helping children excel academically. My journey began when I started tutoring my son, who showed an extraordinary talent for foreign languages. With two years of focused tutoring, he advanced two grades, and soon, other parents and teachers took notice. What began as a passion has now become my full-time calling.

After retiring from my role as Director of Food and Beverage at the San Diego Convention Center in 2018, I turned my full attention to tutoring. This work has been more than just a job—it’s a labor of love, allowing me to guide children to success through personalized learning and open communication.

I believe every child who is willing to work hard deserves the chance to achieve academic excellence. That’s why I strive to keep my prices affordable for all families. Additionally, a portion of my tutoring proceeds goes toward supporting children in foster care or with an incarcerated parent, ensuring that more young learners have access to the help they need.

What age groups and grade levels do you tutor?

I provide personalized tutoring for students from grade 2 to grade 8, focusing on their unique learning needs. For students who continue with me as they transition to high school, I offer guidance through grade 12, ensuring continuity in their educational journey.

Each tutoring plan is tailored to your child’s specific requirements, whether it’s homework support, coordination with school curriculum, or a custom lesson plan based on formal evaluation. My lesson plans align with Illinois Board of Education Standards and include instruction, homework, and assessments to ensure steady academic progress.

While my tutoring services currently have a waitlist, families with the longest tenure in my program are given priority. However, new slots may open up during the summer months. Once you’re part of the program, you will gain priority for future availability.

Yes, I have a strong focus on supporting the homeschool community. I offer wider daytime availability, and parents can fully customize the tutoring structure—whether it’s focused on homework, specific school topics, or custom lesson plans that I develop.

New students typically start around grade 2, once they have developed the communication skills for computer-based learning. To join my program, you can inquire about availability and look through the booking section and pick the days comfortable for you enough, and I’ll guide you through the process, including placement on the waitlist if necessary. Families who stay with me long-term will gain priority for future sessions.
